Kairy Marquez was born in a modest town in Santiago, Dominican Republic. She is daughter to a garment worker and a former Aguilas del Cibao baseball player.  Since her birth, her grandmother made sure that Christ, the Blessed Mother, and the Church were part of her life.  She attended Resurrection Church in her hometown. Being their youngest choir member and attending the Legion of Mary meetings with her grandmother are some of her fondest childhood memories. This is also where she discovered her inclination to music.

At the age of nine, Kairy's faith was tested when she had to leave Santiago and travel to the U.S. to live with her father, step-mother and younger sister.  This early separation from her maternal ties made her adolescence and teenage years uneasy and filled with angst. Knowing of God's unfailing love helped her feel protected and sustained.  Following her grandmother's advice she began attending Mass at St. Teresa in Woodside, NY, the town where she resided.  But it wasn't until age fifteen that she began to pray with a higher level of seriousness and ask God to take over her life.  Since that sweet day, Kairy's relationship with the Lord has deepened and her heart desires nothing more than to serve Him.

From 2010 through 2014 Kairy was a worship leader and speaker in New Name, a Catholic ministry and band based in New York City.  In 2014 she toured in Latin America with Jon Carlos Band, a well-known catholic worship artist. Prior to New Name, Kairy was a worship leader in Jovenes de Valor for five years and is featured in the JDV's music album Dios de mi Vida for which Kairy wrote 6 songs including the popular songs "Eucaristia" and "Dios de mi Vida."  Through JDV and the sponsorship of Bishop Frank J. Caggiano, she completed the 2-year Lay Ministry Program administered by the Pastoral Institute of the Diocese of Brooklyn.  Kairy earned a Masters degree in Human Resource Management from Stony Brook University and a Bachelors degree in Human Services and Public Administration from Metropolitan College of New York.

Currently, Kairy is a full time worship leader and speaker. He first Spanish album as a solo artist is named "Volar".  In addition to ministering in events in the US, she tours with Cielo Abierto (www.cieloabierto.com.mx.), a Mexico-based production company that hosts Eucharistic concerts in Mexico and Latin America.  She has a special regard for Mother Teresa, St. Francis and St. Therese of Lisieux. Kairy lives in Atlanta, Georgia, USA with her husband Edwin and their two boys, Evan and Liam.  She enjoys designing dresses with her mother, photography, fitness, eating out, songwriting, movies, nature, traveling, reading and cooking (and eating) anything with avocado!
